Megan Kennedy, Veteran & Military Adviser, UC Davis
Understanding your VA Education Benefits
Megan Kennedy is a proud UC Davis Aggie Veteran with a B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science from the College of Letters and Science. She works in UC Davis Undergraduate Admissions as an evaluator, public adviser, and transfer coordinator. She is a U.S. Army Reserve veteran who attended American River College in Sacramento until 2012. She transferred to UC Davis as a reentry and Educational Opportunity Program student besides belonging to the transfer and veteran populations. Currently, Megan is a volunteer Undergraduate Ambassador for Service to School (S2S) helping fellow veterans and service members to gain admission to top-tier universities.
While attending school she served as president of the Davis Student Veteran Organization (DSVO), advocated for veteran and military students on multiple administrative advisory committees, and sat on the Campus Judicial Board. Megan began her career at UC Davis with student employment, and is on her second career staff position. She served on the inaugural board of officers for the staff Veteran Constituency Group (VCG), and serves as an advisor to current DSVO student leadership. She is also member of the campus "Out List" identifying LGBTQIA faculty, staff, and graduate students. Megan is also looking forward to pursuing a graduate program in higher education and a law degree - both at UC Davis.
