Join us for our Women Veterans Writing Workshop where the best of both worlds unite: exploring writing life stories and spending time with other women veterans. The Women Veterans Writing Workshop is a three month writing program open to women veterans who are interested in writing about their lives, past and present.
The workshop is designed to support women veterans deepen their writing and story-telling skills for personal fulfillment and if desired, to share stories with others. In the workshop, you’ll spend time writing about your life stories in safe and low-key environment. Participants will generate writing during the class in the form of journal entries and receive guidance on developing life experiences into meaningful stories. Sharing is always optional. There will also be opportunities to complete assignments outside of class and obtain one-to-one feedback from the instructor. Women veterans with all levels of writing experiences and skills are welcome to enroll.
Children’s programming (ages 4-18) will be offered at the library at the same time as the workshop so that the women veterans with children may attend without having to make other arrangements.
The workshop facilitator is writer and teacher Kristine Mietzner. The workshop is limited to 20 participants. Registration is required and opens on July 1st.
