About Us

WVA was founded in 2015, by Melissa A. Washington a Navy Veteran who saw a need to bring women veterans together to help empower each other.

Women Veterans Alliance (WVA)mission: To empower women that have served or are currently serving through networking, career and professional development, and mentorship.

The goals of Women Veterans Alliance are:

  • To Equip women with the tools to pursue a rewarding career
  • To Empower those women who want to become entrepreneurs
  • To Encourage women veteran through Mentorship to include young women that want to join the military
  • To Strengthen the sisterhood bond between women veterans
  • To Develop and Maintain strong community of women veteran supporters
  • To Educate the community that Women that have served are Veterans

Active chapters are Nevada County, Sacramento, South Placer County, Silicon Valley, Yolo/Solano and Tulare County. Chapter meetings are open to any women that have served or currently serving. WVA is a nonpartisan organization. We partner with organizations that support the same mission of empowering women and/or veterans.   To endure we need strong partnerships with businesses, nonprofits, government, community groups, veteran service organizations, and individuals.
